Launch Party: The Aztec

This is one of my very favorite cocktails on our new site, so we knew we had to make shot versions of it for our Domestic Mixologist launch party. Cold and spicy…yum!

Chocolate was so prized by the Aztecs that it was used as their form of currency. It was enjoyed without sugar or milk as a bitter, spiced drink. Montezuma reportedly consumed 50 cups a day! We suggest a more moderate consumption of this delicious blend of New World flavors.

GET IT
1 1/2 ounces chile vodka
1 1/2 ounces creme de cacao
1 1/2 ounces whole milk or half and half
Ice
Bittersweet chocolate shavings

MAKE IT
Pour chile vodka, creme de cacao, and whole milk over ice. Shake and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with shavings. Enjoy while fighting conquistadors.

Serves one.

ENJOY IT!
