Tuna Salad Sandwich

I used to hate seafood. Especially the smell of canned tuna. But I’ve been getting better, and Dino makes really good tuna salad sandwiches. I tried to track what he put in them, to get a basic recipe together, and this is what I came up with.

Description

A classic diner lunch, super simple to make at home! Pick a high-quality tuna for the freshest flavor.


Ingredients

Scale

1 can solid white albacore tuna, flaked with a fork or potato masher
3 cornichons, chopped
3 sweet gherkins, chopped
1/4 small red onion, chopped (or a little dry minced onion)
1 stalk celery, chopped (or a pinch of celery seed)
3 Tbsp mayo
A pinch of ground mustard

A pinch of cayenne pepper

A big pinch of ground white pepper
Salt & black pepper to taste

Sliced bread (toasted or plain)*
Lettuce or baby spinach


Instructions

Mix ingredients through salt & black pepper in a bowl using a fork or potato masher.

Scoop onto to bread, top with lettuce or spinach, and enjoy!
