Beef Larb

Beef Larb

Since I had such a good time coming up with a recipe for dinner last night using only items already in my kitchen, I decided that I wanted to do the same tonight. I once again gave Dino a choice of what protein I should cook with (his options were tofu, ground beef, tilapia or pork tenderloin) and tonight, he chose ground beef. I took it out of the freezer to thaw and thought about what flavors I could combine once dinnertime came. I decided to take a stab at making larb. Continue Reading →

Grass-fed Cheeseburgers

Grass-Fed Cheeseburgers with Sea Salt

We had some friends over for dinner, and we figured it was a great time to fire up the grill! I picked up some beautiful grass-fed ground beef from the Farmers’ Market on Saturday, and we made the tastiest burgers ever! We kept it super simple – forming quarter-pound burgers and seasoning them simply with just a sprinkle of sea salt on top right before they hit the grill. Continue Reading →

40-Minute Hamburger Buns

40-Minute Hamburger Buns

The weather is finally starting to warm up out here in New York, and I’ve craved some grilled food for a while now. I had some grass-fed hamburger meat in the freezer, so I decided to thaw it out and ask Dino if he would be up for firing up the grill for the first time this year. He agreed, especially after I told him that I planned to make homemade hamburger buns! Continue Reading →

Dad’s Stuffed Bell Peppers

The first time I had stuffed bell peppers, they were amazing. My friend’s mom made them for us, and it was one of the tastiest things I had ever eaten. Since then, I’ve never found any that I really cared for. In fact, I checked, and I haven’t tried cooking … Continue Reading →

Grass Fed Beef Sliders

We were away on our first family vacation with Ian for the last few days, and we were so ready to get back to eating good food. I mean, don’t get me wrong…the Jersey Shore has some good food, but it seemed like the only options were fried fish, pasta … Continue Reading →

Mother’s Day: Burgers

Dino has a skill for making delicious mixes for hamburgers. I don’t think he ever makes the same mix twice, but whatever he does, it always turns out delicious! We decided to fire up the grill for Mother’s Day, so he made a batch. I watched as he was mixing … Continue Reading →

Tomato Beef Pasta

We had some friends over to watch the series finale of LOST, and I wanted to make something that’s a repeat hit at our house, so I went with the fantastic Tomato Beef Pasta. I made garlic bread with it again, and it rocked!

Snowy Day Burgers

It finally got warm here in New York, so even though there was still big piles of snow on the ground from our recent blizzard, I thought it would be the perfect day to break out the grill. Dino agreed to make some burgers, and they turned out fantastic, as … Continue Reading →

Grilled Beef Kebabs with Yogurt Sauce

This was a great meal. We just got a cast iron grill pan, so this was the perfect dish to try out on it. My only changes were to sprinkle on a little sumac at the end and to squeeze some lemon juice over them right before eating. The acid really helps this one out. Definitely try to go for Greek yogurt – it’s super thick and rich. I’ll be using this method for grilling meat again, but with variations on the ingredients. Continue Reading →

Seasoned Burgers

Ground sirloin with salt, pepper, onion powder, onion flakes, marjoram, squirt of BBQ sauce and drop of liquid smoke. Melted some extra sharp cheddar on top, and then added ketchup, mustard, red onion and some dill pickle chips and dove in. YUM! Continue Reading →

Tomato Beef Pasta

This is another one of our favorite repeat dinners. It’s easy to put together, and makes enough to enjoy leftovers for several days. This is one of those dishes that only gets better after it sits in the fridge overnight. Great comfort food! Continue Reading →
