I wanted to find a homemade ranch dressing recipe, and this one didn’t even require a trip to the store! You have to remember to make it about a half hour ahead of time so that it has time to chill, but it’s totally worth it! It was fresh and free from MSG and other nastiness. It would be great jazzed up with some Parmesan cheese, too. I’m going to try the buttermilk variation next time. I put it on a salad of arugula, mushrooms, red onions, grape tomatoes, cucumber, cheddar and hard-boiled egg. Yum!

“This ranch dressing is great because it doesn’t have all the chemicals and preservatives that many do. You can also use buttermilk in place of the sour cream, if you like.”

made with buttermilk…yumm.. I’ve been a horrible slacker about homemade salad dressings. I need to get over that!

I don’t think I’ve ever made a non-vinaigrette dressing myself, so this was a first for me. It turned out great 🙂

Perfect! My son loves ranch dressing, and I’m loving a homemade version that doesn’t have extra things he doesn’t need. Printing no – thanks!

I needed a Ranch dressing, over the weekend, and didn’t have. I had to put off the recipe.
I am learning to like making my own seasoning mixes and dressings. They are usually easy to put together and always on hand.
Thanks for this one. I will add it to my list of dressings.
