Pears with Prosciutto Di Parma, Goat Cheese, Honey and Thyme

Pears with Prosciutto Di Parma, Goat Cheese, Honey and Thyme

We had some friends over for dinner, and I was inspired to make an appetizer with this combination of ingredients. It turned out really tasty, but I need to figure out a better way to put this together so that all the meat doesn’t slide off when you take a bite. Maybe a skewered cube of pear with some prosciutto and goat cheese on top, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with fresh thyme would have worked better. I’ll just have to give it another try!

Try using the prosciutto to wrap thin spears of pear with the goat cheese. Then sprinkle with honey etc. Might still need a bamboo skewer or toothpick to keep the bits together. I have done something similar with mango slices/ spears and mascarpone cheese – delish! I have to admit it looks prettier with the pear cut into rounds.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris! I definitely want to try something like this again. Guess I need to have more dinner parties 😉
