Farmers Market Finds
The Croton Farmers Market switched things up this year, and now takes place every Sunday instead of Wednesday. I usually go to the Ossining market on Saturdays, but I was too busy this week, so I stopped by Croton today. There weren’t many vendors there today, but I managed to pick up quite a few goodies! I got some blueberries, squash blossoms, okra, kale, radishes, beets, heirloom tomatoes, Japanese eggplant and sweet pickles. I haven’t attempted cooking okra at home before, so I’m excited to give it a try. And I’ve had an eggplant recipe queued up for quite some time now, but I hadn’t been able to track down any Japanese eggplant until today. I think it’s going to be a very tasty week!
