Farmers’ Market season is finally here, and I love having fun new produce to try out in salads. I got some mizuna – a green that was totally new to me – and radishes from one of the stands, and made a nice salad with them. I added some avocado, orange and yellow tomatoes, red onion, fleur de sal, freshly ground black pepper, aged balsamic and an awesome olive oil. It was really crisp and refreshing – a perfect summer salad. Continue Reading →

I garnished it with some freshly snipped chives and chive blossoms from my garden. Yum! Continue Reading →

This was a good dish, but there is so much lemon grass in it that it’s a bit too potent. It was good, and the heat level was nice. I used a jalapeno – and Dino ended up topping his with some Sriracha. I think this definitely has potential with some tweaks – less lemon grass and maybe some fresh lime juice squeezed over top right at the end. I served this dish on top of some forbidden rice, which really helped the yellow from the turmeric pop. Continue Reading →

I made a side salad tonight with some produce I had in the house. I used baby spinach, carrot, daikon, avocado, chives, grape tomatoes, lemon infused olive oil and aged balsamic with a sprinkle of fleur de sal and a little freshly ground black pepper. It was refreshing and tasty! Continue Reading →
